Standard for purchase order
EDIFACT contains a purchase order standard that is recommended for integration as it facilitates future work and minimizes potential errors. A purchase order contains information about the goods or services that are ordered, multiple goods or services may appear on the same purchase order.

When ordering, it is not necessary that the goods or services are a separate order, but they can, for example, be part of a delivery plan.
If a purchase order is linked to multiple items that belong to the same shipping address, so-called sampack, there are several ways to specify the order. There are also occasions when an order / purchase order need to contain additional information. This may, for example, be about orders that are going out of the country. In such cases, the purchase order may contain information about customs and / or other government supplements, or details of transportation and destination.
